You sit down, the light shifts, and a room you thought you understood feels different. That is the idea behind the gallery, a home prado has opened by the sea in Knokke. Here you don't come to look at products. You come to feel what light, switches and technology do to a space. After the chapel in Antwerp, it is the second place where prado brings its vision to life. And you can simply walk in.
A home, not a showroom
the gallery is designed as a home, not a display space. You touch the products and experience for yourself what integrated technology does to the mood of a room.

The sea as a starting point
The interior was designed with the sea and the beach in mind. The walls are finished in sand-colored clay plaster, and the floor follows the same natural tone. That calm lets the prado products come forward.
Two spaces stand out. A functional library, where the products almost become objects in their own right. And a darker, intimate seating area, kept deliberately low-lit, where you can load your own plans and see them projected in 3D.
The brand as an ecosystem
Where the chapel in Antwerp is dedicated entirely to prado, the gallery shows the wider ecosystem. For the opening, prado worked with Atelier Luxus (interfaces and switches) and Maison Vervloet (door and window hardware), with finishes that carry across every product.
Door handle, outlet, lighting and switch, all in the same material, so an interior reads as one whole. That is the idea behind invisible home technology.
For architects, it means their design vision comes forward instead of the hardware. For the resident, it means technology becomes self-evident. A light scene for dinner, another to wake up to in the morning. "Systems for living," prado calls it.
Visit the gallery
the gallery is open at Strandstraat 11 in Knokke and is freely accessible. Visitors, architects and installers can also book an appointment via knokke@prado.com.
It is a first look at the showrooms still to come, in Paris and Amsterdam.
